technique #1

This tutorial will give you a little bit of insight on how I make some of my layouts. If you'd like to follow along, feel free to use my pictures: 1 2 3 4

1. Begin by opening Photoshop and select File> New. Adjust all settings to match mine

2. Paste your first picture down like I have here

3. Take the second picture and place it so that this one overlaps the first and move it further down

4. Now go Edit> Free Transform. A border should come up around your image. Hover your mouse above the top right-hand corner and slightly turn it clockwise like so

5. Click the move tool:

6. The following box should pop up. Select "Apply"

7. Then to make the two images look more blended together, select the Lasso tool: Circle the area inbetween and hit Delete on your keyboard a few times

8. Now paste your third photo down [example]

9. Cut around it to make a PSD [example] Not sure how? Read up my tutorial on cutting PSDs!

10. Taking your fourth and final picture, paste it next to the PSD you just cut move it under the top layer

11. Your layout will now look something like this

12. Almost done! Going around your layout with a Polygonal Lasso Tool, delete any unwanted parts [example] until your document ends up like mine

13. Select Layer> New Layer and in the Layers Window, move the new layer underneath the 4 before it. Click the Paint Bucket tool and fill this layer with a complimenting background colour. [example]

14. Go to Layer> New Layer. This particular one should be ontop of the background, but underneath the 4 pictures. Add brushes, text, and advance colour effects as you wish!

15. FOURTEEN STEPS! WOOT! Wanting to see how the finished product turned out?! Click away =] Hope you found this tutorial helpful and not too confusing to follow along
