If you go to my blog/homepage, you'll see that my Content Management is Powered by CuteNews. It is an easy blogging tool that allows visitors to comment (and more)!
1. Begin your installation by going to the official Cutenews website here and downloading the latest version.
2. Extract all files from the .zip folder. If you're unsure how, read my tutorial!
2. Upload the extracted folder to your site via FTP [example]
3. It WILL take some time to transfer everything so be patient! Once that's done, double click on the Cutenews folder, thus going into it.
4. Righ-click the 'data' folder and select Properties/CHMOD
5. A window should come up and where it says Permissions: type in 777 as shown
6. Now go into the data folder, hi-lite all the files by clicking and dragging your mouse from one corner to the opposite [example]
7. And again, right-click>> Properties/CHMOD>> 777
8. Then go to www.YOURSITE.com/cutenews Your screen should look like this. Proceed Installation!
9. If you've done everything correctly up to this point, all file permissions should appear Writable and in green [example] Press Proceed Installation to continue
10. You've now come to the Configurations page. Do not edit anything in the first URL field! Fill in a chosen Username and Password. For "Nickname," this is what will show up whenever it says "Posted by (blank)" in your blog. However, it is optional.
11. Hit Proceed Installation to save your account info. Your Cutenews installation is now complete!
12. Before advancing to the login page, you must go back to your Cutenews FTP folder, into the "inc" folder and delete install.mdu for security purposes.
